The Abilene Flying Bison announced in a press conference on Tuesday, April 7th that their upcoming season will be played at Crutcher Scott Field at Bullock Brothers Ballpark, in Abilene, Texas. Crutcher Scott Field is home to the Abilene Christian University (ACU) Wildcats baseball team, a D1 program that competes in the Western Athletic Conference.
This announcement comes 8 weeks before the Flying Bison’s third season kicks off, starting with a two-game road trip to Lake Charles, with the team returning on June 4th for their 2026 home opener in Abilene.
Stadium Stampede
In the coming weeks, the Flying Bison will host the Stadium Stampede: an annual event where current and prospective season ticket members can come to Crutcher Scott Field and choose their seats for the upcoming season. This event is especially important in lieu of the move to a new stadium.
Organization’s Statement
John Stark, President and General Manager of the Abilene Flying Bison, had this to say about the move to ACU’s esteemed facility:
“When we announced the creation of the Abilene Flying Bison, it was with the promise that regardless of past experiences this team would become a part of the fabric of this community for not just this generation of fans, but for generations to come.
In announcing this move to Crutcher Scott Field at Bullock Brothers Ballpark, coupled with our move to the Texas Collegiate League, we have set in motion for the second chapter of the Abilene Flying Bison to soar to even greater heights than the first.
I would personally like to thank the Administration of ACU Athletics, beginning with Vice President for Athletics Zack Lassiter, Associate Vice President Paul Weir, Executive Associate Athletic Director Michael Smoose, Director of Facilities Michael Rasor, and especially Executive Associate Athletic Director Bryan Bruning for making this move possible.
To our fans, we are as committed as always to being the most fan and family friendly entertainment option in all of baseball! That will never change!
We look forward to our pick-your-seat season ticket event on Saturday, April 18th and our home opener on Thursday, June 4th vs the San Antonio River Monsters in the beautiful friendly confines of Crutcher Scott Field at Bullock Brothers Ballpark.
As always in all ways, FLY BISON FLY!”
