The Flying Bison Booster Club was founded in 2025 and has two goals: to help support our incredible players throughout the season, and to create personal bonds between our fans – Flying Faithful – and our team.
Name, Image, and Likeness
The main reason we started the Flying Bison Booster Club is because our players (and players in similar leagues) do not get paid for playing due to rules and regulations surrounding their NCAA eligibility. If they are paid to play, they are considered professional athletes which means they are not eligible to play in college.
The Name Image and Likeness (NIL) program allows college athletes to receive financial compensation for their name, image, and likeness – through activities like product endorsements, autograph signings, social media posts, appearances, etc. – so they have an opportunity to make some money while continuing their athletic careers.
Throughout the season, the Flying Bison organization helps create opportunities for our players to make money through the NIL program, such as pre-game autograph signings, social media videos, and other activities that fall under the NIL program.
Strengthening Player/Fan Bonds
In many summer leagues, including the Mid-America League, players stay with host families for the summer. (The Flying Bison don’t do this and instead put our players up in dorm rooms because we want to help foster the type of independence our players need playing in the big leagues.) Staying with a host family is a great way for players to feel at home while away from home, and encourages a stronger bond between the players and the fans. Because we don’t participate in the host family program, we wanted to create opportunities for fans to bond with the players better, which they can do by being a member of the Flying Bison Booster Club. Currently members of the club are planning and organizing ways to provide snacks for players when they go on road trips, offering home cooked meals, and other activities.

The overall reason to join the Flying Bison Booster Club is to help support our players who give it their all during our 12 week season. But we also wanted to include some tangible benefits to show our appreciation, which include:

Where Do the Club Fees or Any Money Raised by the Booster Club Go?
100% of the membership fees go directly to our players. Any funds raised by the FB Booster Club go directly to our players. Our goal is for our players to make a little money to support themselves during/after the season because they do not/can not get paid to play baseball during the summer.
