As the weather cools in West Texas, the Flying Bison are looking forward to taking part in the fun and festivities going on around Abilene to celebrate the final months of the year.

Most recently some of the AFB front office attended Abilene Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo. This annual event is “a family-friendly festival where the Zoo transforms into a fall celebration filled with costumes, trick-or-treating, seasonal activities, and animal fun.” (Via Abilene Zoo)

This is the first year Abilene’s baseball team joined in on the Halloween festivities at Abilene Zoo, who’s been a partner of the Flying Bison since their first season in 2024. Though Boo at the Zoo spans across 5 weekends, the Bison only attended on October 31st for the final day of the yearly tradition.

Across the 8-hour event, the front office got to meet dozens of costumed fans celebrating the spookiest day of the year. The summer ball team gave away 10,000 pieces of candy, brought two prize wheels, and gave away all the extra trinkets they had in the warehouse.

In addition to the front office, members of the Abilene Flying Bison Booster Club were in attendance to greet fans and assist with candy delegation. The Abilene Flying Bison organization is so grateful to be invited by the Abilene Zoo to take part in this 10+ year long tradition.

“This is the exact type of off-season event we love to attend,” says Cat Duguay, Vice President of the Flying Bison. “It’s purely for fun and it’s purely for the community.”

The Flying Bison are looking forward to connecting with the community throughout the rest of the year at various holiday events, such as the Abilene Parade of Lights on 12/1 or the Abilene Volunteer Services Council Christmas Lane between 12/4 and 12/27.
