More exciting news coming out of Abilene with the announcement of Kyler Harris joining the staff as 2026 Pitching Coach for the Flying Bison.

About Kyler Harris

A native of Greenville, NC, Harris currently works as the pitching coach at Pitt Community College. Prior to his arrival at Pitt, Harris served as the pitching coach at Camp Community College in Virginia where he also managed the Strength and Conditioning duties within the program.

In Harris’s tenure at Camp Community College, the Hurricanes collected the program’s first World Series win along with a 2024 Region 10 Championship. He coached 3 All Region pitchers and helped break program records in ERA and WHIP.

In the summers, Harris has spent the last two years in the esteemed Coastal Plain League, and also spent time as an intern at Cressey Sports Performance in Massachusetts.

Harris graduated with a B.S. in Health and Sports Science from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2022, and went on to obtain his M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Mary.

On him joining as the 2026 Pitching Coach for the Flying Bison, President + GM John Stark had this to say:

“Kyler Harris is a dynamic young pitching mind and we are incredibly excited to have him join the Flying Bison. Kyler brings a mix of old school pitching by feel married to new school use of analytics to drive our staff.”

His hands-on experience as a pitching coach, ability to help drive a team to a championship, and recent experience playing summer ball make Harris a great fit for the Flying Bison.

Harris joins Bench Coach Blake Sandford in summer 2026 where the Flying Bison will play their 3rd season. Learn more about Harris and stay up to date with him on X
